Classroom Technology Tools
Welcome to the PR*TEC Pacific Voices Classroom Technology Tools page. Below is a list of the Tools provided to each of our teams. Each item was carefully selected to support potential projects. The teams, as needed for specific projects, could request additional items.
  • Art Materials (paper, markers, watercolors, brushes, pens and plasticene) for Video posters.
  • Tape Recorder and Microphone for interviews
  • Digital Video and Still Camera for video projects, plays and letters.
  • iMac DV Computer for editing movies and using software.
  • Scanner for illustrating and archiving.
  • CD Burner for archiving and dissemination.
  • Color Printer for dissemination and posters.
  • Online Courses The Pacific Voices Technology Kits include pre-paid tuition for team members to enroll in the Apple Professional Development online courses. We do not know how useful these courses may be. We encourage team members to try them out and provide us with your feedback. Below is a link to the online courses.   • Software:
    • Kidspiration - helps students K-5 see, organize and develop their great ideas. Using the proven principles of visual learning, young readers and writers build confidence in organizing information, understanding concepts and expressing their thoughts. K-5 students use Kidspiration to:
      • Brainstorm ideas with pictures and words
      • Organize and categorize information visually
      • Create stories and descriptions using engaging visual tools
      • Explore new ideas with thought webs and visual mapping
    • Storybook Weaver - Deluxe Classic is software designed to aid in storywriting. Story-starting images to stimulate your creativity. Write in English or Spanish for hours of creative possibilities. And the text-to-speech feature lets you hear your story read aloud.
    • HyperStudio 4.0 - an integrated program used to create multimedia projects. HyperStudio assembles and sequences multimedia elements and provides the ability to create all the information elements as well. Text can be written right in the program, there is a robust paint program, sound recording ability, digital movie recording, and even device control. HyperStudio includes an optional programming environment called HyperLogo which allows HyperStudio to be used an application development platform.
    • iMovie2 - movie editing software for the Apple computer
    • AppleWorks - Office productivity software for the Apple computer. AppleWorks includes functions for word processing, spreadsheets, painting, drawing, presentations and databases.
    • IntelliTalk II - Award-winning word processor that combines speech, graphics, and text designed to help students meet challenges and experience success by giving every student the support he/she needs.
    • iTunes - audio software for the Apple computer
    • KidPix Deluxe - Create amazing multimedia art with stunning graphics, fun sounds, and lively animation.
      • Draw and paint with realistic tools that create amazing 3D effects.
      • Produce a slideshow with still or moving picturesÅ\you can even add sound!
      • Paint colorful images with sound art-- just use the volume and pitch of your voice for amazing results.
      • Create a digital storybook, multimedia movie, or comic book by adding your original art, sounds, music, or animations.
      • Move, shrink, and enlarge hundreds of new, high quality, movable graphics.
